We are committed to adhering to the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) ((EU) 2019/2088) and recognize the importance of environmental, social, governance (“ESG”) factors in the value creation for our investors and portfolio companies.

Fairpoint Capital’s mission is to support the development of its portfolio companies to build long term value and generate superior returns for its investors. As a minority investor we believe we have a responsibility towards society to influence our portfolio companies to act in a sustainable manner. We further believe that the best interests of our investors are aligned with those of the companies we invest in, their customers, their employees and the communities in which they operate. Therefore, while remaining resolutely commercial, we always aim to act in a sustainable way.

Transparency of sustainability risk policies

ESG risks and opportunities are considered at many stages of the investment lifecycle;

  • the sourcing stage
  • the screening and evaluation (“due diligence”) process
  • the ownership phase, and
  • in the eventual exit of the company

Please see our ESG Policy for a detailed overview of how we integrate sustainability related risks into our investment decisions.

Transparency of adverse sustainability impacts at entity level

Fairpoint Capital AB consider principal adverse impacts of investment decisions on sustainability factors. Factors currently taken into consideration include environmental, labor & human rights and ethical issues. All potential target companies are required to complete our ESG self-assessment questionnaire based on principle adverse impact (PAI) indicators and go through an ESG due diligence, together with a legal and commercial due diligence. More information on our ESG due diligence process can be found in our ESG Policy.

Transparency of remuneration policies in relation to the integration of sustainability risk

Our remuneration system is consistent with our approach to the integration of sustainability risks and does not encourage excessive risk-taking with respect to sustainability risks.
